SYNOPSIS
You
get to the point where you can just say it. There was never anything special
about me, except my father is rich and important. That's why it happened.
It
was just a normal Tuesday afternoon.
I
was twenty-three and thinking about my new designer boots. They kidnapped me
for ransom. They raped me before I was rescued. My therapist says that talking
about it means I'm starting to heal.
I
don't really think I am.
It's even harder to talk about Gideon. He couldn’t save me
when it really mattered, so he keeps trying to save me now. He refuses to give
up on me, and I can’t make him understand. There are some things you just can’t
be saved from.
Warning:
Salvation is a love story that follows a difficult path of healing after sexual
assault. It is a true contemporary romance, but it addresses very hard issues,
including rape and attempted suicide. Please consider whether this book is for
you.

I LOVED this book. It was a dark read that brought light upon itself. By the end I was so happy for our hero and heroine.

"He had been broken that night, and then I'd been broken too." -Diana
Diana is kidnapped by Albanian men connected to her very powerful father. While held hostage, she meets another hostage named Gideon who's been working undercover in order to take down these men for almost a year. After some gruesome events occur, she is rescued but never quite able to heal. Until Gideon shows up on her doorstep and won't take no for an answer. He sees in her what she fears she will never see again: a happy girl with a bright future ahead of her.
"Eventually it feels like the pain is everywhere, everything- like you're nothing more than how much it hurts." -Diana
This book is written like you are reading our heroine's diary. A lot of times, when we read stories where rape is involved, the details can be gruesome. The way Diana describes the scene to us is chilling. I had to set my reading device down and take a breath. The way Gideon treats Diana and how he believes she is full of life even though she didn't get the best hand dealt to her blew my mind. Here's this man that knows you've been raped and your mind screws with you, yet he always sticks with her. He never lets her go. He is her salvation.
"You called me the light that shines on the dark places of your soul. You don't think I'm going to forget that, do you?" -Diana
Overall, I'm giving this beautiful story 5 STARS out of 5 STARS. Nothing can compare to this story. Just go read this.
