This book is straight up emotional. I'm talking even more gut wrenching tears than Ruin... and that book made me weep like a baby!

This is the second book in the series and it centers around Gabe. In the first book, we meet Gabe who is friends to both Kierstan and Wes. But now it's his turn to share his struggles. He may come off as a man-whore looking for nothing in life but a good time, but what he makes you believe and what lies beneath the mask is a man who is suffering. Saylor (by the way, gorgeous name!) is a music student who needs to graduate in order to get a job and support her nurse mother and autistic brother. She feels swamped and dispassionate with her music. There's so much holding her back, yet meeting Gabe and understand who he really is might just be the kick in the butt she needs to find that passion for her music.

  "The most erotic touch a man can experience is that of a woman digging her nails into his skull and giving a little tug" -Gabe H, Wes M, and all men...everywhere

Gabe's past is really messed up, but he finds love in this music student. Saylor makes him realize that not only are passed mistakes meant to stay in the past, but never letting them go will only hurt him, his friends, his family, and anyone he ever meets. This is another tragic story in the ruin series, but I'm relieved to see Gabe able to share that pain he holds for so long.

Overall, I'm giving this book 5 STARS out of 5 STARS for being something truly special. Tragedy leading to happiness is something you can never take away from someone, and everyone in their own way deserves it. I love Rachel Van Dyken's writing style. I love every book she writes, so there was no doubt in my mind that I wouldn't love this book!

Totally love this book! All the elements a dream man should have! Kristen writes a wonderful book!

In the second book of the Dream Man series, we meet the sweet and innocent cake baking Tessa O'hara (how sweet does that name sound). She's been dating a man for 6 months who she comes to find out isn't who she thinks he is. He's an undercover cop named Brock Lucas who has been following a lead on Tessa's ex-husband. What started as another day on the job turned into a love affair. When Tessa discovers this she decides it's over, but we all know a Dream Man only allows it to be over when HE says it's over. And now he's going to win her over for good.

But he's got his own baggage like a crazy ex wife and two amazing kids. And Tessa not only has a drug dealing ex husband but she suddenly gained a crazy amount of girlfriends including Elvira... oh yeah! She's back! The whole gang is. And now there's someone calling Tessa and just breathing down the line, and shots are being fired, so you know there's gonna be some craziness here!

Overall, this is classic KA... love it. love it. LOVE IT! I'm giving it 4 STARS out of 5 STARS because Tessa and Brock are super great together. I think they balance each other perfectly and they have such a cute family together! Go read this whole series!

Book Review: Rock Chick (#1 Rock Chick) by Kristen Ashley

Okay... so don't throw stones but... I greatly disliked this book. So much so that I have no desire to read the rest of the books in the Rock Chick Series. Now before you all go crazy on me and banish me from Goodreads forever, let's get a couple things straight.

1. I love Kristen Ashley a little too much. Dream Man series? Prime. Chaos Series? Hell yeah! But Rock Chick? Super lacking.
2. I went into this with arms wide open and low expectations, but I could not relate with the characters AT ALL.
3. I wanted to like this book so bad, but it just wasn't enough for me.

Basically, Indy Savage is a badass rock chick who pretty much fell in love with Lee Nightingale in the womb. She has ignored him for close to ten years after the very last time he rejected her. So she's done... Well until her barista decides to steal a bunch of money or something (see I was really sure exactly what happened with Rosie and the diamonds was it? Yeah completely confused from the beginning). Now Lee has to help save Indy from bullets. Lee is a total alpha male which I did love because I LOVE ALPHA MALES.

I guess it just wasn't the Kristen Ashley material that I love to pieces. But I realized something after I really thought long and hard about this book... this is one of her very first works, which means her writing keeps improving. I think that's why Dream Man and Chaos are some of my favorite series of books: They were written at a period of time when her writing peaked. Rock chick was one or maybe THE first book she ever wrote.

Rock Chick: 2008 vs Dream Man: 2012... A 4 year difference can mean HUGE for an author's improvements.

Overall, I'm giving this book 3 STARS out of 5 STARS, but do not take my word for it. I went and bought this book and decided let's do this. I gave it an open mind and just didn't like it. An author is going to have at least one book that will make you think meh... and that is this book for me.

This is another classic by J. Kenner. She writes with the likes of Sylvia Day. I can NEVER get enough of her characters. They always have the most intriguing stories to tell. And Wanted is no different.

This story is about Angelina after her Uncle Jahn, the last person who really KNEW her passes away. Jahn was the mentor to three boys: Evan, Tyler, and Cole. Evan Black has been on the forefront of Angelina's mind for years. After the tragic murder of her sister, Angelina changed her ways. She used to be a free spirited, flighty young woman, but now she is living every minute with structure. She won't screw up again.

Angie and Evan are two lonely souls who find that being together helps them become whole. but of course there are secrets they are both hiding from not just each other but everyone. And it's up to them to learn to trust each other.

Overall, I'm giving this book 4 STARS out of 5 STARS for its amazing scenery, strong love bond and fantastic writing. I have seen other reviews and you need to understand that the Stark Series was so beyond what anyone thought it would be that it exceeded so many expectations. Just do not go into this book with super high expectations because just like in everything you do with high expectations, you will be disappointed.

This is a touching book about the struggles young couple Emily and Sculpt aka Logan endure after they both escape the pits of Hell.

I thought the first 35% of the book were really intriguing. Emily has been abducted and taken from her loving friends. She thinks this is it. Her life is over. Until she hears his voice. The voice of her lover, Logan, but she's sadly mistaken to find that not only is he not there to save her, but he's also to be called Master.

Eventually, Emily is able to escape from Raul and his treacherous compound. But she has to leave Logan behind. And she's does. For two years she's been free. Well she thought so until Sculpt comes back into her life demanding he loves her and won't let her out of his side ever again. He went through so much to get back to her and he's not taking NO for an answer.

He was determined and unfathomable. He was confident with no fear. A steady resolve as if nothing could break him. It was scary hot... Now ... it scared me. Because I didn't trust him.

I was totally loving this book for the first 40%. It was so Pepper Winters' material. She's being abused, beaten, never raped though because Logan's her master and deep down he wouldn't betray her like that. So that was pretty grueling, but I loved how Logan treated her in the compound. He did what had to be done so they could survive.

It hurt. He hurt. The memories hurt. I knew escape was my only answer before I fell back into a place I swore I wouldn't go again.

But then when he comes back 2 years later I just found Emily to be so annoying! Every time Logan attempts to talk to her about what he went through so he could come back to her, she was like "I love you, but I can't trust you ever again." Okay I kind of understand since he had to be somewhat cruel so she would fear him, but he spent two years trying to escape for you, loves you to the moon, and gave you your dream of rehabbing horses. And you can't even give him a chance? Please. So I pretty much came to detest our heroine, which made the book go downhill for me.

I had to be crazy to still love this man, and yet... some fragment of my soul did.

Overall, I'm giving this book 3.5 STARS out of 5 STARS. Buy this book with the With You novella. It explains a lot of the references Torn from You. I was a little annoyed with the heroine, but I was loving the supporting characters! Kat and Ream are steamy and I cannot wait for their story. I'm more excited for the Unyielding Series spin off because I need to know if Deck and Georgie get together. And the mysterious Kai... that's gonna be so interesting!
